February Sunday Out of the House {phfr} - vol. 64

{pretty}
So pretty from the window.
I don't necessarily mind that it's snowy and cold out because I kind of like the excuse to stay inside…at least on a superficial level.  But deeper down it's starting to wear on me.  On everyone, I think.  And that's just February, I guess.
So I begged Brian to take us out of the house on Sunday.  In fact, I think my words may have been, with much melodrama and tears, whimpered, "Just please, please take us out of here."  I was thinking Caribbean.  He was thinking children's museum.  So whatever.  At least we got out.

{happy}

Love the tongue concentration

They spent the majority of the time building, as per the usual.

Finished product and quite proud

And this one spent the time with the mind puzzles.  He's suddenly growing out of certain things.

{funny}
Pinboards do not get old.  I don't know what it is about them but I have not laughed this hard in a long time.

That combined with Brian's wacked-out puppet show had me in legit tears!

{real}
We also made a stop at the nearby five and dime, which is not really a five and dime anymore but still one of the best stores ever.  It's huge and they have everything.  Old fashioned candy, tin lunch boxes, all the old games and toys, and they're one of the only places in the area that carries maple sugar tree taps which was why we stopped.  We're hoping to channel our inner Charles and Carolyn and get our syrup making skills their first try this year.

In a few weeks we're finally really going to try it because why not, right?  We'll see how this goes!

Linking up with LMLD for {phfr}!

  2. Pictures made me remember when I went there with you a few years ago. And we stopped at the 5 & 10 cent store, too. Both are fun places worth repeating.
